I did a slightly more elaborated version of this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! style back in November. I’ll kind of pop these up in pieces that way it isn’t overly time consuming for all of you. Then we can compile everything into one large post when we are all done. Today we will start with the basics.
1. Name your brand.
2. List
THREE
brands you benchmark/compete with.
3. What is your brand’s advantage/focus? Choose
THREE
of the following and list them in order of importance to your brand:
Performance
Technology
Economy
Luxury
Service
Design
Value
Knock out those three things and you’re golden for the night!
If you would like a head start for tomorrow’s project, here it is:

I have no idea about what the name would be but the three advantages (marketing buzzwords) would be Service, Value, and Tech. So reliable cars that are great value and really reliable. Hopefully competing with Toyota, Honda, and to a point GM’s smaller cars. (yeah. That may not be the best idea). I know this is really against OPPO sentiment, but the cars I’d sell would be well equipped, yet cheap and reliable cars that aren’t really geared to performance or the fun of driving. Each car would be designed with the average commuter in mind. They’d be safe, get good gas mileage, and of course have nearly seamless smartphone integration.
The seven models would be
1 and 2 The 4 door sedan. There would be a hybrid variant.
3 The 4 door hatch. This would only be available as a hybrid and all styling choices are based on having a low drag body while still being large inside.
4 Midsize CUV (5 seater)
5 and 6 Full size 4 door sedan with accompanying hybrid variant.
7 Fullsize 7 seater.
All cars would be available with AWD except for the 7 seat SUV. That would have a low range and decent towing capacity for family trips to the lake. Or to tow a small RV trailer. All vehicles would have modular rear seat entertainment systems to keep costs low. In theory, these should be swappable. Maybe have one that’s designed for phone/computer integration, and then another for a gaming console.

Name: Sceptre
Benchmarks: Mazda, Dodge, Chevrolet
Advantages: 1. Performance, 2. Technology, 3. Value (the rest would be important, but probably around average, if not somewhat above average, while these three would be exceptional)
Models:
- Compact 4-Door Hatchback (say, a Mazda3/Chevrolet Cruze competitor, but only available in a hatchback), Name:
Solus
(latin for sun)
- Compact CUV (5 seater only) (Mazda CX-3 or CX-5/Chevrolet Equinox competitor, leaning more towards the CX-5), Name:
Radium
(latin for ray)
- Compact 2-Door Convertible (2+2, Soft Top) (Think something between a Miata and a Camaro/Challenger), Name:
Ignis
(latin for fire)
- Midsize CUV (5 seater w/opt. 7 seater 3rd row) (Something that can compete with the CX-5, CX-9, Equinox, Traverse, Journey, and Durango), Name:
Carrus
(latin source of the word chariot)
- Midsize 2-Door Coupe (2+2) (This, and the below convertible would be your true Camaro/Challenger competitors), Name:
Tigris
(latin for tiger)
- Midsize 2-Door Convertible (2+2, Soft Top), Name: Tigris Open Top
- 2 Seater Coupe (Viper/Corvette), Name:
Umbra
(latin for shadow)
If I had an additional slot, I’d throw in a sedan to go against the Charger and SS, but if I’m limited to 7, then so be it. I guess one could assume the brand could add more models in the future, right?

My seven cars;

Competitors: Morgan, Ariel, Caterham
1 Performance
2.service
3. design
Pack some ear plugs and advil because NVH was completely skipped. you’ll get all the attention with the beautiful design and near 100 db exhaust pissing everybody else off.
it will wipe out the British track car market with a fast and easy service car, before horribly crashing due to people not having to buy another. In 10-15 years it will be determined that it was really an intricate way to launder millions of dollars to the south pacific

Brand: Laurentian, a near-luxury brand founded in 1905 in Montreal, has been bought out by the British Viking company and is producing cars in three plants, one in Regina, Saskatchewan, their original Montreal facility, and a brand new state of the art facility in the north of Scotland, in Inverness, shared with the Viking luxury brand.
Competitors: Buick, Lincoln, entry-level Audis, Benzes, and BMWs.
- Technology
- Luxury
- Design
Models:
Compact 5-door hatch: Laurentian Winnipeg, engines range from a two cylinder twin turbo, to a five-cylinder, naturally aspirated.
Midsize 4-door sedan: Laurentian Calgary Magnette, base model has a turbo four, top range model has a twin turbo V6
Midsize wagon: Laurentian Calgary Estate, same engines as the Magnette
Fullsize 4-door sedan: Laurentian Vancouver, engines range from a twin-turbo V6, to a supercharged V12.
Fullsize 2-door coupe: Laurentian Montreal Engines range from the twin-turbo V6 from before, to the S/C V12 from before, and a twin turbo quad rotary engine.
Midsize CUV (5-Seater with optional 3rd row) Laurentian Arviat, engines range from a naturally aspirated 5-cylinder to a twin-turbo V6.
Fullsize SUV (8-Seater) Laurentian Inuvik: Engines range from a twin-turbo V6 to a naturally aspirated V12.
All cars are obviously named after Canadian cities, the smaller the city (when it comes to cars and SUVs) the bigger the car. SUVs are named similarily, but specifically named after Northern Canadian towns. Badge would be like the old Ford Frontenac badge, a single maple leaf representing the brand’s status as Canada’s only surviving major native automaker.
I can’t seem to permalink my old post for some reason, but this one kinda ties into the other. This is fun, it’s basically what I do in Automation, screw around and be creative with car brands.

Name: Aurora
Benchmarks: Mercedes-Benz, Bentley, and Lexus.
Focus points : 1. Luxury 2. Preformance 3. Design Imagine as a modern take on “old Mercedes or early Lexus. Bank vault, money is no object build quality and engineering with classy but imposing design. Have a simple displacement based nomenclature for naming the cars i.e. 600 for a 6 liter sedan, with coupes having an additional .5 liters for the engine, ex 850 K for a supercharged 8.5l coupe. Engines would range from a 4.0 V8 w hybrid in lowe model cars all the way up to a 8 liter V16 w hybrid in the range topper.

This was a tough assignment, especially being limited to 7 vehicles.
1. Strada Automobiles
2. BMW, Mazda, VW
3. Performance, Service, Design
Strada automobiles are designed for people who enjoy driving, but also have to deal with a variety of traffic situations, including heavy traffic or long-distance driving. The cars are designed by drivers, for drivers, and are built to last, both mechanically and aesthetically.
Electronics are high-quality, and limited to aspects of the cars that make the most sense—nothing superfluous. Ergonomics are a top priority, so drivers can keep eyes on the road, and remain comfortable, even on long drives. Seats are supportive. While there are some options available, there aren’t myriad versions or luxury levels (for example, seats are either all leather, or durable fabric). With the exception of silver, all paint colors are non-metallic.
• All cars are turbodiesel hybrids.
• Manual or automatic transmissions.
Models:
1. Compact 4-Door Sedan
2. Compact 4-Door Wagon
3. Compact 2-Door Coupe (2+2)
4. Midsize CUV (5 seater w/opt. 7-seater 3rd row)
5. Midsize 2-Door Convertible (2+2, Soft Top)
6. Fullsize 4-Door Sedan
7. 2 Seater Coupe

Ohhh! This is fun! I actually daydream about this stuff. Here goes:
Name: Vendetta
Benchmarks: Porsche, Lexus, BMW
Importance: Performance, Technology, Luxury
Model Lineup:
- Two seater coupe
Halo mid-engined hypercar using hybrid power with batshit crazy aero. This will come after the CUV and Sedan as a huge mic-drop after the company turns profitable. Building on that momentum to bring the brand upscale and enter racing.
V12 engine with KERS and MGU-K units. The v12 will be derived using the I6 engines already developed. Available with an in-house DCT only.
- Midsize 4 door sedan
Performance sedan to compete with the likes of the M5 and RS6. Most likely a This will be for those budget-concious middle-management consumers who want a luxurious car but don’t want to pay for maintenance. See: Acura, Lexus, Infiniti buyers.
I6 turbocharged engine. Available with a sourced Getrag 6-speed manual or SF 8-speed auto.
- Midsize CUV (5 seater only)
The real money-making cash-cow. Similar to the Cayenne and Macan to Porsche. This will fund the halo car and help the company turn a profit to start entering the post-funding phase.
I6 turbocharged engine for the base and v8 for the performance version. Available with a ZF 8-speed auto only.

Name: Pardus (latin name for a panther)
Benchmarks: BMW, Dodge, Mazda
Advantages: 1. Performance 2. Design 3. Luxury
Models:
-Compact 4-Door sedan (something like a BMW 3-series, but with options for 2 turbo-4 engines, a turbo-6 engine, and an SC V8 flagship trim)
-Compact 4-door wagon (see above. it’s the 3-er touring of that car)
-Midsize 4-door sedan (Charger-sized. 2 turbo 4, turbo inline 6, SC V8, and an NA V10 engine are the options here)
-Midsize 4-door wagon (see above.)
-Midsize 2-door coupe (something with the balls of a challenger but handling of a miata. Would feature the turbo-6, SC V8 engines.)
-Compact 2-door coupe (miata RF competitior, with more luxury. would feature 2 turbo 4-cylinder engines, and a carry-over turbo 5-cylineder from the last line up)
-Midsize CUV (5seater w/7 seat opt.) (turbo-4, turbo-6 and an SC V8 are engines. RWD-based, and all but base model get standard full-time 40/60 split 4WD)

I think I’ll expand the metallic paint colors to charcoal grey, auric (champagne), platinum and copper. Ah, heck, I like a nice pearlescent white, too.
